Crystal Lake to Host Transportation Plan Open House

Crystal Lake – An Open House to discuss the draft Transportation Plan will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at City Hall from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Room P105. The Crystal Lake Transportation plan will advance the vision of the City’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan, which focuses on providing a transportation system that safely and efficiently serves the community and considers the travel needs of all users, including travel by car, rail, bus, bicycle or foot.

The draft Transportation Plan will be available for public review and comment before beginning the formal review process with the City Council. Representatives from the City of Crystal Lake and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) will be at the open house to answer questions and provide clarification. The plan highlights suggested future projects for pedestrian, bicycle, transit and roadway improvements.

In addition, the City's update to the Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Transition Plan will also be available for review. Any interested persons, including individuals with disabilities or organizations representing individuals with disabilities, are encouraged to participate by submitting comments to Abby Wilgreen at and/or attending the meeting. The draft Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Transition Plan will also be available for review on the City’s website until October 20, 2017.

Residents, business owners, community leaders and other interested stakeholders are encouraged to attend this exciting community planning event.

Additional information about the Transportation Plan is available at Please contact Nora Beck at or 312-386-8677 or Elizabeth Maxwell at or 815-356-3738 with questions about the Open House.
